Why we started Letelier

After relocating to New York in 2022 for my investment banking job and renting out my apartment in London - I realised three years later that I was making significant losses on my rental property due to astronomical management fees from my estate agent. I was dealing with a large, national real estate agency with a stringent pricing model and an endless train of new trainees that didn't understand my needs, or my tenants. My tenant's requests went into a black hole. My emails went unanswered for weeks. Costs for repairs were lazy at worst and eye-watering at best. The customer service element upset me the most - I was a faceless entity to them - for a property I had worked so hard for. Upon moving back to London, I decided to found Letelier to help other landlords, especially those located overseas, in the same position and looking for a better, more organised and tailored alternative to property management.
